CM calls for emergency meeting on Tirupati Encounter Hyderabad, April 7 (INN): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu convened a high-level meeting today on the encounter of 20 red sandalwood smugglers in Seshachalam hill ranges near Tirupati.
The Chief Minister held the meeting with ministers and officials to enquire about the details of the encounter. He also directed the officials concerned to provide immediate medical care to the injured.
He also directed DGP J.V. Ramudu to handover the bodies of the smugglers to their respective families after a postmortem is conducted. He also asked the officials to publish the photographs of the deceased in order to get in touch with their families.
The Chief Minister also reviewed the existing patrolling measures by the forest department to curb the smuggling of red sandalwood from the state.
Chief Secretary IYR Krishna Rao, Ministers Acchan Naidu, Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao, P. Narayana, Advisor (Communications) to GoAP Dr. Parakala Prabhakar, and DGP J.V. Ramudu were present at the meeting.
