Alair encounter is a 'revenge killing': MBT Hyderabad, April 7 (INN): The Majlis Bachao Tahreek (MBT) has described the Alair encounter as 'revenge killing' by the Telangana Police
In a statement, MBT leader Amjed Ullah Khan (Ex Corporator) alleged that the police selectively killed five terror suspects in a 'cold blood murder'. He said the suspects were being brought to Nampally Court from Warangal Jail in S1 category security which comprises of 18 police personnel. He said that the contention of police was invalid that they failed to over-power a handcuffed suspect who tried to snatch a weapon from the police constable.
Amjed Ullah Khan said that all the suspects were facing trial in different cases and their involvement or innocence should have been decided by the court. However, by killing all of them in a shootout, the Telangana Police had tried to send a wrong message among the people that they took revenge of killing of three policemen by the alleged SIMI operatives.
"The MBT strongly condemns the killing of police personnel by the alleged SIMI operatives and demand that stern action should be taken against all the terrorists. The anti-national activities and all kinds of violence should be curbed with an iron hand. However, the State Government and Police Department should ensure that they do not indulge in fake encounters or harassment of innocents only to satisfy their egos," Amjed Ullah Khan said.
The MBT leader demanded a thorough inquiry into the incident through a sitting judge of the High Court and immediate suspension of all the police personnel involved in the fake encounter till the completion of inquiry. "Although the TRS Government, especially Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao tried to give an impression that he was not communal and pro-minority, the Alair encounter has proved that his government was not different from the TDP and Congress regimes which were involved in fake encounters of Muslim youth," he said.
