KCR asks NITI Ayog to change FRBM guidelines Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao emphasized before the NITI Ayog member VK Saraswat that Telangana State has been declared as a revenue surplus state by the Finance commission.
The Chief Minister also told the Member that the FRBM guidelines for raising resources through borrowings for revenue surplus state should be at par with Government of India. He said that this will enable the states to invest in capital infrastructure to improve the economic growth. This point has been made by the Chief Minister particularly in the light of reduction in the centrally sponsored scheme outlay for the states and lesser share in the devolution of funds to revenue surplus states.
Saraswat, along with Ashok Jain, Advisor, NITI Ayog, called on the Chief Minister at the State Secretariat on Thursday. Prior to that they had a meeting with Vice Chairman Planning Board S Niranjan Reddy and Chief Secretary Dr Rajiv Sharma and Planning and Finance officials where State Government officials made a presentation on flagship schemes of Government of Telangana such as drinking water supply, Mission Kakatiya, Swatch Telangana etc., When the members called on the Chief Minister they told him that any good scheme that the Telangana state is implementing will be recommended to other states instead of reinventing the wheel.
Advisors to the Government Papa Rao, GR Reddy, AK Goyal, the Chief Secretary, Planning Board Vice Chairman, Parliamentary Secretary Jalagam Venkat Rao, Principal Secretary Planning BP Acharya and Principal Secretary to CM S Narsing Rao were present when the NITI Ayog Member and Advisor called on the Chief Minister.
