Naidu promises exclusive desk for investments


 
Hyderabad, April 16 (INN): As a part of their China visit, the delegation today attended second round-table meeting in Chengdu on 'Business opportunities in the state Andhra Pradesh, India.'

In a welcome address, Ambassador of India to the People's Republic of China Ashok K. Kantha stressed on Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's objective to foster closer political relationship between India and China. Calling Naidu one of India's visionaries and respected leaders, Kantha introduced at the meeting the Chief Minister's ambitious agenda for the development of Andhra Pradesh. 'Construction plans in the capital city Amaravati will open up a lot of opportunities for companies from China and Sichuan,' Kantha added.

In the meeting, Kantha enlisted four reasons why Chinese companies must look towards Andhra Pradesh as an investment destination: cordial relations between India and China, opportunities India has to offer, Special advantages that Andhra Pradesh holds, which makes it even more interesting for Sichuan to explore the opportunities. He also pointed out at the scope of comprehensive co-operation between Sichuan and India in sectors like education, agriculture, IT and construction.

Yang Xingping, Vice Chairman of Sichuan Provincial People's Political Consultative Conference enlisted the importance Sichuan holds in China. He added that Sichuan emerged as the first choice for foreign investment in China.

Stating that India and China are complimentary economies, Xingping hoped that the Chief Minister's visit will open a new chapter in the relationship.

The Chief Minister said that he was impressed with the dedication and commitment of Chinese entrepreneurs.

Lauding the country's dedication to implement their reforms meticulously, the Chief Minister hoped that India too will evolve as number one country in the world. He also reaffirmed that he is keen to build Amaravathi as a second home for the Chinese. Stating that India grew at 7.4 percent and is moving towards double-digit growth, the Chief Minister emphasized on creating a win-win situation for both the countries. He also stressed on efforts to eradicate poverty in both the countries.

The Chief Minister also mentioned that he has brought in transparent administration helping in rapid clearances.

Announcing to set up an exclusive desk for the Chinese, he mentioned that the government has signed MoU on 'ease of doing business' with Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy.

The Chief Minister also added that he wants to build a world-class capital for the state and sought Singapore's plan in this regard. 'I need your support to build the capital', he added.

A delegate from China Railway Construction Corporation has come forward to do business in the state and sought approach to invest. Later, a government to government MoU was signed in Sichuan.

Meeting with Tang Liangzhi, Mayor of Sichuan:

Following a round table meeting with Chinese business leaders, AP delegation arrived to attend a meeting with Tang Liangzhi, Mayor of Sichuan.

Congratulating the Chief Minister on the successful round-table meeting, the Mayor briefed the delegation about the demographic marvel of Chengdu.

He stated they have to develop a plan to make the sister-state relationship successful and set an example for the world. 'We would like to explore opportunities and do business in your state,' Liangzhi added.

The Chief Minister mentioned that he was amazed by the development of Chengdu.

Stating that he is working towards achieving double-digit growth, the Chief Minister emphasized on agricultural and cultural strengths that Andhra Pradesh holds. He also proposed that the Ambassador is planning to organize International Yoga Festival in June 2015 in Chengdu. He extended an invite to the Mayor to visit Andhra Pradesh and the Buddhist heritage capital, Amaravathi.

Responding to the Chief Minister's invite, the Mayor said that he would definitely make a visit to Andhra Pradesh in his next visit to India.

Later, the Mayor organized lunch for the delegation before they left for Shanghai.
