All set for DELP launch in West Godavari Hyderabad, April 22 (INN): In continuation of its sustained efforts for implementation of Energy Efficiency & Energy Conservation(EE&EC) programme, the Andhra Pradesh Government has further decided to distribute 15 lakh more LED bulbs to the domestic consumers.
Accordingly, APEPDCL in coordination with State Energy Conservation Mission (SECM) has made all arrangements for launching of the pro-public Scheme, DSM based Efficient Lighting programme (DELP) at Narasapur in West Godavari district by APERC Chairman Justice Sri G.Bhavani Prasad on Thursday at 4:00 P.M. In order to maintain the tempo of the energy conservation programme Minister for Women Empowerment & Child Welfare P Sujata will launch/commence the scheme on 24th April @10.00A.M at Jangareddygudem in WG Dist.
This is the fourth pilot district approved by the Go A.P for implementation of DELP, in addition to Guntur, Anantpur & Srikakulam Districts, wherein a total number of around 42 lakhs LED bulbs were already distributed. Two no.s 7W LED bulbs at a nominal price of Rs.10/- each bulb are distributed to each household in these districts for exchange of 2Nos. 60W ordinary Incandescent bulbs. With the completion of LED distribution in W.G. dist by the end of June 2015, the total no. of LED bulbs distributed in A.P. will increase to more than 50laks (or) half Crore. Further, M/s.EESL, GoI, the implementing agency has called for tenders for procurement of LED bulbs to extend the DELP scheme to the entire state.
In a recent meeting with Chief Secretary & APSECM Chairman Dr.I.Y.R.Krishna Rao, Director General, Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Ajay Mathur, has appreciated the efforts of A.P.Govt in the area of EE&EC by expediting the DELP and said that LED revolution is gaining momentum in A.P. and has became a role model in the Country. The C.S. has congratulated the officials for completion of distribution of around 42lakhs LED bulbs so far.
Energy Secretary Ajay Jain has reviewed the status of distribution of LED bulbs with the top officials of power sector in the context of launch of DELP in W.G.Dt. He has suggested the CMDs of DISCOMS, H.Y.Dora and R.Mutyala Raju to update the list of beneficiaries of LED bulbs into the billing records of DISCOMs, for effective monitoring of energy savings recorded in their monthly electricity bills. Utilities were directed to call for tenders to take up 3rd party inspection for ascertaining the percentage (%) of energy savings, hours of usage & placement of LED bulbs, no. of bulbs in good working condition.
