Over 61% candidates pass Inter Second year


 
Hyderabad, April 27 (INN): Girls have outperformed boys in the Intermediate Second Year examinations whose results were declared here on Monday.

Announcing the results at the office of Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education here, Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari informed that of 378,973 candidates, a total of 232,742 or 61.41% candidates have passed the second year exams. The pass percentage for Vocational candidates was 59.06%.

The girls have outperformed boys by securing more than average pass percentage. While 66.86% girls in general and 31.48% in private categories cleared the exams, the boys' pass percentage was 55.91% in general and 24.71% in private categories.

A total of 150 cases of malpractice in general and 8 in Vocational were booked and results of 22 candidates in general and 15 in Vocational have been withheld.

The overall pass percentage in vocational courses was 59.06% for regular and 34.38% for private candidates. The pass percentages were 66% and 54.85% for girls and boys respectively.

They Deputy CM informed that this year's overall pass percentage was a little higher than the previous years. As against the pass percentage of 59.95% in 2013 and 60.14% in 2014, this year's pass percentage was 61.41%, he said.

In the general category, about 49.41% candidates secured A Grade or more than 75 per cent marks, 31.46% got B Grade (60-75 % marks); 14.39% got C Grade (50-60 % marks) and 4.74% secured D Grade (35-50%).

In Regular category, Ranga Reddy district was on top with 75% pass percentage followed by Khammam (64%), Hyderabad (64%), Nizamabad (57%), Warangal (57%), Karimnagar (56%), Adilabad (54%), Medak (54%), Mahabubnagar (52%) and Nalgonda (50%) districts.

Among Government Colleges, Adilabad district topped the list with 75% pass percentage, followed by Medak (70%), Nizamabad (68%), Mahabubnagar (60%), Karimnagar (60%), Warangal (59%), Nalgonda (59%), Ranga Reddy (58%), Khammam (54%) and Hyderabad (49%).

The Deputy CM informed that special coaching will be imparted at the District Headquarters from 4th to 22nd May to the students of government colleges who have failed in Mathematics and Sciences subjects so as to help them clear the Supplementary Exams. He said food and hostel facilities would also be provided to the students.

Group-wise the pass percentage was 71.74% for MPC, 65.94% for BPC, 69.25% for MEC, 45.89% for CEC, 34.06% for HEC and 69.94% for other groups.

The Marks Registers of all colleges will be dispatches to the Regional Inspection Officers concerned within three days. The Principals can collect Memoranda of Marks and Marks Registers from the Regional Inspection Officers n May 1 and see that they are given to the candidates at the earliest. The discrepancies, if any, found in the Memorandum of Marks should be referred to the Board through concerned Principals before May 27.

The Second Year Intermediate Advanced Supplementary Examinations, May/June 2015, will be held from May 25 between 2.30 PM and 5.30 PM and the last date for payment of examination fee is May 6.
