Telangana tops in welfare schemes: KCR
Hyderabad, April 27 (INN): Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has claimed that Telangana State is on the top across all other States in India in the implementation of welfare schemes for the poor and downtrodden.
Addressing a massive public meeting at Parade Grounds in Secunderabad on Monday evening, KCR challenged his critics and opponents for a debate on the implementation of welfare schemes in the State. He said Telangana's spending on welfare schemes was highest in the country and he was ready to prove it. Listing out the schemes like Kalyana Lakshmi, Shaadi Mubarak, Aasra Pension, Beedi Workers pension and other schemes were unique and first-of-their kind in the country.
KCR also promised to develop Hyderabad like Dallas of US. Ridiculing the claims of previous regimes of them developing Hyderabad, he said that the city lacks basic infrastructure, facing shortage of drinking water and witnesses frequent traffic jams. He said that his government would take required measures to develop Hyderabad no par with international cities in the next two to three years.
The Chief Minister admitted that his government was facing some difficulties in fulfilling the promises due to procedural delays. However, he said that the TRS Government would implement all the promises including 2BHK houses for poor, regularisation of contract employees, one lakh jobs, KG to PG free education, Water Grid and Mission Kakatiya. He also promised to supply nine hours of uninterrupted power supply to agriculture sector from March next year.
KCR also criticised his Andhra Pradesh counterpart N Chandrababu Naidu and accused him of causing obstructions in the development of Telangana and dubbed him as "Kirkiri Naidu". He also condemned the Congress party for criticising the TRS Government.
The Chief Minister said he had achieved the first goal of his life of statehood for Telangana. "My next goal is to achieve 'Bangaru Telangana' and I've no other purpose in life. I will work 24 hours a day to realise this dream," he announced.
Earlier, Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali, TRS Secretary General and Rajya Sabha MP K Keshava Rao and other leaders addressed the public meeting.
