Addressing a review meeting at his camp office on Wednesday, the Chief Minister directed the officials to ensure that the nine-hour uninterrupted power supply to agriculture sector remains glitch free. He said that priority should be given to the farm sector so as to help the farms to ensure that their yield increases this season.
The Chief Minister also directed the officials to keep a close tab on the demand-supply gap in the State. He said that about 4,320 MW power was available in Telangana State and this is expected to touch 7,000 MW by next March due to increase in production and other resources. He said that the State would get power from different sources including 150 MW from Jajjar of NTPC, 290 MW through CGS, 810 MW from Gayathri Power Plant, 600 MW from KTPC Bhupalapally, 1200 MW from Jaipur of Singareni.
KCR claimed that by next year, the Telangana State would overcome the shortage and by 2018, it would be a power surplus State.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister has confirmed the name of "Yadadri Power Plant" which is being constructed at Damaracharla of Nalgonda district. He will lay the foundation stone for this power project soon.
