DCA conducts surprise checks at pharmacies Hyderabad, May 7 (INN): The Special Teams of Drug Control Administration have found several violations by the pharmacies attached to major hospital across Telangana State.
A total of 96 violations, including 10 major violations, were found during the surprise checks carried out by the DCA's special teams on Wednesday and Thursday. According to DCA Director Akun Sabharwal, the teams were tasked to check violations pertaining to Unlicensed Premises, Overpricing, Quality of medicines, Presence of Medicines beyond expiry date, Cold Storage maintenance, Hygiene Issues, Violations of Drugs Act 1940 and record maintenance.
Important hospital pharmacies which were found violating the rules including Century Hospital (Banjara Hills), Lotus Hospital (KPHB), Innova Hospital (Tarnaka) and Landmark Hospital (Hyder Nagar) in Hyderabad; Hanuman Hospitals (Avadham) of Adilabad; Vijaya Lakshmi Clinic (Husnabad) of Karimnagar; Sri Srinivasa kidney Center (Hanmakonda) and Karuna Sri Nursing Home of Warangal; Srinivasa Orthopedic Hospital and Devi Nursing Home in Siddipet of Medak; Sri Chandrasekhara Homeo Clinic and Sri Venkatrama Nursing Home in Bhadrachalam of Khammam; Ravi Medicals in Melacheruvu of Suryapet (Nalgonda); MSR Hospital and Navodaya Hospital of Mahabubnagar and Dr. Shinde Hospital (Banswada) and Sri Raja rajeshwara Nursing Home of Nizamabad.
