SHC to select Khadim-ul-Hujjaj on May 12 Hyderabad, May 8 (INN): The 14 Khadim ul Hujjaj (Haj Volunteers) from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states will be selected through draw of lots (Qurrah) on 12th May at 4 PM at Haj House in Nampally, Hyderabad.
Special Secretaries of Minorities Welfare Department Syed Omer Jaleel (Telangana) and Shaik Mohammed Iqbal (Andhra Pradesh), Minorities Welfare Director Mohammed Jalaluddin Akber, Telangana State Haj Committee Special Officer Prof. S. A. Shukoor and other senior officials will attend the function.
Out of 14 Khadim ul Hujjaj, seven each will belong to Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. In Telangana State, three seats will go to nine districts of the state with 1,171 pilgrims and four seats will go to twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad with 1794 pilgrims while three seats will go to Andhra region with 1,000 pilgrims and four seats will go to Rayalaseema region with 1,334 pilgrims. The selection will be made from out of 142 applicants declared eligible. The highest number of applicants 74 are from twin cities for four seats followed by Telangana 42, Rayalaseema 20 and Andhra six applicants.
