Police to exhume body of street fight victim The South Zone of Hyderabad City Police on Sunday began investigation into the death of an intermediate student who was killed in a 'friendly' fist fight with another teenager.
Although the incident took place on May 3, it came to light only on May 10 after victim's father watched the fight video filmed by boy's friends with their mobile phones. The deceased, Nabeel Ahmed Dastagir was a student of Zehra Nagar near Mir Chowk. His father, Ghulam Dastagir, who works in a Gulf country, returned home after learning about his son's death. He was shocked to see the video of 'friendly' fight which killed his son. He immediately approached the Mir Chowk Police Station on Thursday and lodged a complaint.
"It is not clear what prompted them to start a fight, but Nabeel and his friend, a juvenile, exchanged blows during the fight. After few seconds Nabeel collapsed on the ground,' . South Zone DCP V Satyanarayana said. He informed that a case of suspicious death has been registered and further action will be taken after conducting a post-mortem.
The boy was buried at a graveyard in Barkas and his body would be exhumed on Monday for post-mortem in the presence of team of forensic experts of Osmania General Hospital.
The police have reportedly taken seven juveniles into custody for interrogation.
