SHC to select Haj volunteers on Tuesday Hyderabad, May 11 (INN): The 14 Khadim ul Hujjaj (Haj Volunteers) from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states will be selected through draw of lots (Qurrah) on Tuesday at 4 PM at Haj House in Nampally.
Special Secretaries of Minorities Welfare Department Syed Omer Jaleel (Telangana) and Shaik Mohammed Iqbal (Andhra Pradesh), Minorities Welfare Director Mohammed Jalaluddin Akber, Telangana State Haj Committee Special Officer Prof. S. A. Shukoor and other senior officials will attend the function.
Altogether 5209 Haj pilgrims are selected to perform Haj this year, for which 17 Khadim ul Hujjaj has to be selected at the rate of 300:1. The Andhra region comprises of 1000 Haj pilgrims which require three Khadim ul Hujjaj, Rayalseema region with 1334 pilgrims require four Khadim ul Hujjaj. Similarly Telangana with 1174 pilgrims require four and Twin cities of Hyderabad with 1704 Haj pilgrims require six Khadim ul Hujjaj out of which three will be selected from out of the candidates and the remaining three will be deputed from State Haj Committee and the State Wakf Board.
