Strike called off: KCR announced 1% more than Naidu The eight days long strike of RTC employees ended on Wednesday with both the Telangana and Andhra Governments agreeing to major demands of the striking employees. Both the governments agreed for the 43 % fitments as demanded by employees.
The AP government has announced 43 per cent fitment.Cabinet sub comitte headed by Yanamala held talks with employees to solve the matter.They promised employees that'arrears of the last three months would be paid during the Dasara and Diwali period.
Other side Telangana CM KCR, who addressed the media, announced 44 per cent fitment, one per cent more than that announced by his counterpart government. Interestingly his announcement came minutes after the AP Govt announced its deal. KCR said the fitment would be implemented from June and the arrears would be given in two phase.He also promised to regularize the contract employees.'He said the retired employees would be allowed free travel in RTC buses.
With the decision of Governemnts the RTC union leaders have called off their 8 days' long strike and asked the workers to join duties fromtoday'itself.
