BJP condemns Rahul's remarks Hyderabad, May 15 (INN): The Telangana unit of Bharatiya Janata Party has strongly objected to the remarks made by AICC Vice-President Rahul Gandhi on the suits of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Addressing a press conference here on Friday, Telangana BJP President G Kishan Reddy said before commenting on Narendra Modi, Rahul Gandhi should clarify whether his grandfather Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and father Rajiv Nehru did not wear costly suits, especially during foreign tours. He claimed that Pandit Nehru was known for his lavish lifestyle and his clothes used to get ironed in London.
Justifying Rs 10 lakh worth suits for Narendra Modi, he said that the Prime Minister was wearing such suits only during foreign trips as he needs to build country's image in a foreign land. He asked whether Rahul Gandhi was opposed to wearing of a costly suit by a Backward Classes PM.
