SCR collects Rs. 8.45 lakh penalty The South Central Railway has realised an amount of Rs 8.45 lakh towards penalty from ticketless and irregular travellers.
According to the SCR, a Fortress Check against ticketless and irregular travel was conducted at the Secunderabad Railway Station on Saturday under the direct supervision of Chief Commercial Manager (Passenger ' Marketing) Ravi P. Padi.
The check was undertaken by 126 Ticket checking staff supplemented by Railway Protection Force (RPF) Personnel. Tickets of passengers were scrutinized to detect ticketless/irregular travel. During the Fortress Check, all the exit points at Secunderabad Railway station were plugged to prevent ticketless travellers escaping from the check. 42 Express trains, 8 Passenger trains and 38 MMTS trains were thoroughly checked at the station.
A total of 1613 persons, comprising of 473 persons travelling without ticket, 1020 persons travelling irregularly and 120 cases of un-booked luggage were detected. A total of 66 persons were penalized for littering at SC Station and an amount of Rs. 13,200/- was also realised during the Fortress Check.
