KCR interacts with citizens over civic problems
As a part of 'Swachh Hyderabad' programme, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Sunday visited several localities in Secunderabad Assembly constituency and interact with the local residents on the civic problems being faced by them.
The Chief Minister visited Parsigutta, Lala Nagar, Shanti Nagar, Chilkalguda and other surrounding localities. At Amber Nagar, the Chief Minister held direct interaction with the citizens. Complaining about lack of storm water drains in their area, the locals said that the rain water enters their houses whenever it drizzles in the city. The Chief Minister was told that there were lot of encroachments on the local nala which have deteriorated the conditions for the locals.
While promising to construct double-bed room houses for the poor residents who have encroached upon the nala, the Chief Minister asked the Amber Nagar residents to convince the encroachers for eviction. He also promised to release monthly pension for the local beedi workers. He also sanctioned a Primary Health Centre for the area.
Later, the Chief Minister visited Ashok Nagar area of Parsigutta and inspected the conditions of housing, drains and nalas. While interacting with the local residents, KCR assured that steps would be taken to set up a junior and degree college in the area besides taking up expansion of roads and underground drainage system.
The Chief Minister said there was no shortage of funds to provide basic amenities to the citizens of Hyderabad. He said all civic issues could be resolved with the active cooperation of the people. He admitted that several localities in the city were in bad shape and through 'Swachh Hyderabad' programme, the State Government aims to develop them.
KCR compared the 'Swachh Hyderabad' as a surgery being performed on the city to cure it of all defects. He said touring the localities for four days would not resolve all the problems. Therefore, the State Government plans to continue the initiative for the next four years.
