Students hold protest against acquisition Hyderabad, May 20 (INN): Continuing their protest for the third consecutive day on Wednesday against the proposal of the Chief Minister to take away Osmania University's land for weaker section housing, the OU students organised demonstrations and burnt the effigy of K Chandrashekar Rao.
Several students took out a rally from Arts College to Law College in the OU campus and raised slogans against the TRS Government for the proposed move. They warned KCR against implementing the decision and reiterated that they would not allow the government to take even an inch of OU's land. They also demanded immediately removal of encroachment from the OU's premises. They said instead of restoring the university's land, the TRS Government itself is trying to snatch away the land.
The students claimed that Telangana State became a reality due to the sacrifices and struggle of OU students. Instead of strengthening the institutions, the State Government is trying to weaken the Osmania University by coming up with insane proposals, they alleged.
