KCR lays foundation for housing schemes Hyderabad, May 20 (INN): Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao laid the foundation stone for weaker section housing in Syed Sahab Ka Bada locality in Old City here on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, KCR said the project has been launched based on representation made by Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi. He said that construction of 48 2BHK flats of 560 sq yards each would begin in the next 10-15 days. He assured that the State Government would provide houses to all the poor people and all basic amenities would be ensured in their areas. He also promised to visit the area again to inaugurate those houses.
Later, KCR also visited a slum area near Chanchalguda Jail. There was a proposal with the government to construct 140 flats under G+3 scheme. However, Asaduddin Owaisi has requested the Chief Minister to upgrade the project to G+6 or G+5 to increase the number of beneficiaries to 240. While accepting the proposal, the Chief Minister said that the construction of flats would begin soon and lift facility would also be provided in all the apartments.
Meanwhile, the MIM President requested the Chief Minister to take up weaker section housing projects on 80 acres of land in Bandlaguda area. He also urged KCR to hasten the completion of Rs 23.68 crore housing project at Mailardevpally under JNNURM.
