Logistic Park at Visakhapatnam Visakhapatnam, May 20: Chief Secretary I.Y.R. Krishna Rao held a meeting today with the Officials Railways and Ports to discuss on Logistics Hub and Ports in the State. The Vizag Port Trust has come forward to set up a Logistic Park near Visakhapatnam where about 400 acres of land is available.
It was decided to hand over 300 acres of land to Vizag Port Trust for development of Logistic Park and about 100 acres of land to APIIC for developing it as Industrial Estate. Chief Secretary has issued instructions to the Dist. Collector Visakhapatnam to take action accordingly.
Regarding Development of Ports on the East Coast, the issue of connectivity both rail as well as road was discussed. It was decided to take up with Govt. of India for Electrification and doubling of line between Vizianagaram and Raipur, because this is going to be crucial link rail connectivity from the Ports of Andhra Pradesh.
It was also decided to explore the possibilities of developing a dedicated freight line on the East Coast the State Government has also decided to take up with Railways liberalizing the ownership of rakes and wagons by bulk consumers so that the shortages can be averted. Navy officials from Visakhapatnam met I.Y.R. Krishna Rao, Chief Secretary.
They are seeking co-operation from the State Government of Andhra Pradesh for an event International Fleet ' 2016, going to be held at Visakhapatnam. Chief Secretary has agreed and issued instructions to the Dist. Collector and Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation officials to prepare an action plan and scope of works to be taken to extend co-operation at all the levels to make the International event a big success.
