YSRCP's Govind Reddy files nomination Hyderabad, May 20 (INN): Former MLA Govind Reddy on Wednesday filed the nomination papers for the post of Member of Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council.
The elections for four vacant MLC posts are scheduled to be held on June 1. However, the elections are most likely to be unanimous. As per the strength in State Assembly, the YSRCP will get one seat while the remaining three would go to ruling Telugu Desam Party.
Govind Reddy had earlier served as the Deputy Commissioner of Road Transport. He had resigned from his post to join Congress party and won from Budvel seat in 2004 elections. He remained loyal to former Chief Minister Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy and later joined the YSR Congress Party at its inception.
Govind Reddy thanked YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for nominating him for the post.
