Akula Lalitha is Congress candidate
The Congress party has finalised the candidature of Akula Lalitha for the post of Member of Telangana Legislative Council.
Lalitha's candidature was finalised by the Congress High Command on Wednesday night. She hails from Nizamabad district and had earlier served as the president of TPCC Mahila Congress.
According to sources, Lalitha's has been given prominence over other aspirants including former PCC chiefs D Srinivas and Ponnala Lakshmaiah, former Deputy CM Damodar Rajanarasimha and ex-minister D Sridhar Babu among others. She will file her nomination papers on Thursday.
