RTC bus plunges into Godavari Hyderabad, May 21 (INN): Two passengers were killed while 35 others sustained injuries when a speeding RTC bus lost control and fell into the Godavari River near Bhadrachalam on Thursday.
The bus (AP 20 3940) of Bhadrachalam Depot was proceeding towards Bhadrachalam from Khammam when it met with the accident before climbing a bridge. Both the dead persons are women. While one woman died on the spot, another died on the way to hospital. The condition of five injured persons, who were shifted to Bhadrachalam Area Hospital, is said to be critical.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has expressed shock over the accident. Transport Minister P Mahender Reddy expressed shock and grief over the accident and also ordered an enquiry. He instructed the officials to provide immediate medical aid to the injured passengers.
