Naidu seeks people's support to build Amravathi Guntur, June 6 (INN): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's has sought the support and contribution of all sections of the society for the construction of State's new capital Amravathi.
Speaking after performing 'Bhoomi Puja' of Amravati city at Tallayapalem in Tulluru mandal of Guntur district on Saturday, Naidu said that not everyone gets the opportunity to construct a capital city. Therefore, he said everyone should take advantage of this opportunity and make their contribution in building the capital city. He said he feels satisfied whenever he see the international airport at Hyderabad, Hitech City, Outer Ring Road and Cyberabad. He claimed that he has developed Hyderabad and built Cyberabad. Similarly, he said Amravathi will be a beautiful city in the next few years.
The Chief Minister said that 'Bhoomi Puja' for the new capital was performed as there was no good 'Muhurat' for the next few months. He said a separate ceremony to lay foundation stone would be organised soon by inviting Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Naidu said that the State Government has selected a perfect location for the new capital. It is centrally located and well connected. Stating that the capitals are constructed only once, he said he himself would work as a labourer in its construction. He thanked farmers for giving away their lands for the new capital and advised them to do business besides doing farming.
Describing Amravathi as the 21st Century capital city, Naidu assured that it would as beautiful as Singapore. He said Amravathi would be people's capital. He said initially he would spend at least three days in a week in the new capital and later, he would stay here at least five days a week.
Union Minister Nirmala Sitaraman, State Ministers, MLAs, MPs and officials participated in the function.
