BJP stakes claim on Warangal seat The Bharatiya Janata Party has expressed its intention to contest the by-elections from Warangal Lok Sabha seat, which fell vacant due to the resignation of Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari, who got elected to Legislative Council following his induction in State Cabinet.
Speaking to media persons at Warangal, BJP senior leader and former Mayor Rajeshwar Rao said that the Telugu Desam Party should leave the seat for BJP. He said that compared to TDP, the BJP has a strong base in Warangal and it could easily win the seat in by-elections.
While condemning TDP MLA A Revanth Reddy's bid to bribe nominated MLA Elvis Stephenson, the BJP leader also criticised TRS for luring legislators of opposition parties despite having majority in the State Assembly. He said that the BJP was strongly against the 'Cash for Vote' politics.
