Telangana Govt did not tap the phone, says Dy CM
Hyderabad, June 9 (INN): Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari on Tuesday made it clear that the Telangana Government did not tap the telephonic conversation between Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and nominated MLA Elvis Stephenson in connection with 'Cash for Vote' case.
Speaking to media persons in Warangal, the Deputy CM accused Naidu of trying to mislead the people by levelling allegations of phone tapping against the TRS Government. He said that the conversation was recorded by the nominated MLA himself with the help of Anti-Corruption Bureau. He said instead of trying to shift the blame on Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao or his government, Naidu should undergo a lie detector test to prove his innocence.
Kadiyam slammed Naidu for making a hue and cry on the issue without even condemning the act committed by his party MLA A Revanth Reddy. He accused the TDP chief of trying to project the entire issue as a combat between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. He said that the bid to bribe the MLA was an individual act committed by Revanth Reddy at the instance of Naidu and the people of both the States have nothing to do with it. Instead, the incident has brought shame for all the Telugu speaking people in the world.
He advised Naidu to resign from his post and face investigation to prove his innocence.
