Shocked tollywood pay last respects to EVV
Hyderabad, Jan 22 (INN): Grieving fans and film actors thronged to the residence of well known film producer-director EVV Satyanarayana who died of a massive cardiac arrest in a city hospital late on Friday night. Mr Satyanarayana, or EVV as he was more fondly referred to, leaves behind his wife and two sons. He had been undergoing treatment for throat cancer since the past few days and his condition has turned critical recently.
The 53-year-old film producer-director's death has sent shock waves throughout the Telugu film industry. Actors who had worked with him and those who did not have a chance to do so made their way to his residence at Jubilee Hills to pay their respects to the man who had made the audience laugh and cry with the emotional scenes in his films. Among them, Mohan Babu, Nandamuri Balakrishna, Nagababu, Rajender Prasad, comedian Ali, Dr Rajashekhar and wife Jeevitha, Shiva Reddy, Parachuri brothers, producer-director Kodi Ramakrishna, music director Koti, producer D Suresh Babu, producers C Kalyan and Ashok Kumar and others also made their way.
Former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal and other political leaders also paid their last respects to the popular film producer-director. His body was kept at his residence from 10 AM till 3 PM to enable his followers pay their last respects. EVV will be cremated at his farmhouse in Manikonda later in the evening.
He had first tasted success with his film Prem Kaidi after making his debut with the movie Chevilopoovu. After the stupendous success of 'Prem Kaidi', the director never looked back, giving one hit after the other. His films like 'Hello Brother, Abbaiyi Garu, Intlo Illalu Vantitlo Priyuralu and Maa Nanaku Pelli made the audience laugh their way into theatres and made him laugh his way to the bank.
Comedy alone was not his forte, as revealed by his off-beat venture Thali and his tryst with Bollywood cinema, directing the film Suryavanshi. EVV turned producer with Chala Bagundi and also introduced his two sons into the film industry. Elder son Aryan Rajesh's Hai was not that successful, but the younger one, Allari Naresh's film earned profits. He had finished the third film, Kathi Kantha Rao with Naresh, which proved to be his last film.
