Taapsee is super-excited CHENNAI: Heroine Taapsee Pannu is super excited these days, so her tweets convey. '...can't believe its meeeee. Feels like fallin in love wid myself.lol. gettin self obsessed,' the actress tweeted. When we catch up with the vivacious girl face to face, her excitement only seems to have increased two fold. 'I'm eagerly waiting to watch the film in the theatre. I play an Anglo Indian girl. She's a Tamilian at heart. She's confused, speaks very little and keeps to herself. I know what I was getting into when I first signed the project. It was very challenging, as it was a realistic movie,' says Taapsee about her role in 'Aadukalam'.
This Delhiite feels lucky to have bagged a versatile role in her very first film, where she portrays varied emotions. ''Aadukalam' was the first movie I signed in tamil, but my Telugu film 'Jhummandi Naadam' released first,' says Taapsee.
She completed her software engineering, and was even about to do an MBA. 'As I was modeling (she won two subtitles in Miss India pageant - Beautiful Skin and Fresh Face) during my college days, I passed on my photographs to coordinators and director Vetrimaran got my pictures through one of them. I had never thought about acting, but my friends said I was very dramatic and would make a perfect actress. I know that I couldn't be an engineer by profession and was more into the creative field,' she reveals about her tryst with acting.
'I'm indeed lucky to have gotten such a debut vehicle. My role in my next film 'Vandhaan Vendraan' is just the opposite to that of 'Aadukalam',' she adds. Right from the start, Taapsee was of the belief that the South would be a better choice. 'The kind of stories I was offered here were very interesting,' says the actress, who is doing three projects in Telugu. 'I'm also doing a Malayalam movie,' she adds. The young actress feels that the industry needs a lot of fresh faces and believes there's always space for more creative people,' says Taapsee, as she signs off.
