RGV's Dongala Muta with Ravi Teja HYDERABAD: Ram Gopal Varma might be down, but he's never out ' and to prove it, he has set out to make a film in five days with a crew of just five people, including him. Director Ram Gopal Varma is ready for yet another cinematic experiment and has announced his zero-cost Telugu film 'Dongala Muta' ' an action thriller with southern superstar Ravi Teja. Varma has decided to shoot this two-hour long movie in five days, starting February 11. 'No one in this film, including the actors, technicians and equipment suppliers, is going to be paid any remuneration. It will be made only with those actors and technicians who are excited to be a part of this project,' tweeted Varma.
Apart from Ravi Teja, the cast includes Chaarmi, Laxmi Manchu, Brahmandam, Subba Raju, Brahamajee, Ajay and Prakash Raj. The film will be co-produced by Puri Jagannath. The movie is slated to release on March 11 ' exactly a month after Varma starts shooting it. Here's what RGV posted on his blog: 'I am starting a Telugu film called 'Dongala Muta' (A Gang of Thieves) with stars like Ravi Teja, Chaarmi, Brahmanandam, Laxmi Manchu, Prakash Raj from February 9.
'Everyone knows that normally a film takes between 60 to 120 days to shoot and more than 150 to 200 crew members will be working on it. The unique thing about this film of mine is that this two-hour-long feature film will be completed in just five days start to finish, with a crew of just five people including me. No one in this film is going to be paid. It is being made only with those actors and technicians who are excited to be a part of this project,' he said.
'All the people who are working for this project will only be paid after the release of the film that is, if and only if the film makes profits and those payments will be in accordance with their individual value additions, he added. 'The technology I am adapting for this film is going to once for all prove that it's not crores of rupees that one needs to make a film but it's just a story which excites all concerned and a passionate desire in all concerned to see that the film gets made and gets released. The film will be released on March 4 that is exactly in 23 days from the start date of the shooting which is February 9.'
