Gabbar Singh has no rights on Dabangg? Hyderabad: South Indian filmmakers who are bee-lining to get the remake rights of Salman's 'Dabangg'. However, producer Arbaaz Khan has reportedly decided to not part with the rights. But while Khans work around the right time and the right moolah to give away the rights, someone somewhere in Tollywood is already working on his Dabangg remake. Actor-Producer Pawan Kalyan has announced his forthcoming film Gabbar Singh to be a Dabangg remake.
Sources have it that the actor will produce the film and will also reprise Salman's popular Chulbul Pandey role in the film, to be directed by Harish Shankar. The actor plans to start shooting for the film soon and wishes to release it this year too.
A source close to the Khans revealed that the Khans haven't as yet sold the remake rights to any one. 'Many keen filmmakers from the South have approached Arbaaz for the remake rights but he has decided to wait for the right time to sell it. As far as this Telugu film is concerned, the makers may get into legal trouble if they are calling it a remake of Dabangg as the rights are still with Arbaaz Khan's production house,' the source said.
However, Arbaaz Khan productions deny having sold remake rights to Pawan and warns the makers may get into legal trouble if they are calling it a remake of Dabangg.
