'Hate websites are operating from the US' Hyderabad: The 'hate' websites against actor Nandamuri Balakrishna and actor-turned- politician Chiranjeevi have been operating from the USA, according to cyber crime investigators. The online content which includes morphed videos, photographs, amusing quotes as well as caricatures of family members of the two Tollywood actors is being operated by fan clubs of both actors, according to police officials.
'The servers are registered in the USA. We are investigating the matter,' TS Uma Maheshwara Rao, cyber crime inspector told. Meanwhile, the servers of the two websites www.ihatechiru.com and www.ihatebalayya.com were down yesterday. Officials said that fan clubs operating websites, blogs and different groups on Facebook and Twitter were uploading morphed images of the actors. Even as a few fan club representatives of Balakrishna lodged a complaint to the cyber crime police 20 days back, it came to light that more hate blogs and websites were operating from the US - www.wehatebalayya.blogspot.com, www.wehatechiru.blogspot.com, www.antibalayya.blogspot.com and www.jokesonchiru.com.
One portal was allegedly defaming Balakrishna, NTR Junior, Kalayanram and Tarakaratna f rom the Balakrishna clan while on the other site, Chiru and his brothers Pavan Kalyan, Nagendra Babu, son Ram Charan Teja and his nephew Allu Arjun were targeted, with morphed photographs and offensive messages.
Md Iqbal Siddiqui, assistant commissioner of police (ACP), cyber crime told that a case was registered after a few members Balakrishna's fan club approached them. However, both the websites- www.ihatebalayya.com and www.ihatechiru.com were reportedly not functioning. Users attempting to login into Balayya's website were greeted by the message- 'We are working furiously to correct. Things will be up and running again soon. Thanks for your patience.' '
We have booked a case against the site owners of www.ihatebalayya.com. The site was posting various vulgar and indecent content and morphed photographs of Balakrishna and NTR Junior and other family members of Balakrishna,' Uma Maheshwar Rao said. Police registered a case under section of 66 (A) of the Information Technology Act.
