Tolly stars to play ball at Vizag
Hyderabad, March 1: It's something really special to look upon as the two religions - cricket and films will come together. Bollywood and the entire southern film industry are ready to battle against each other in a game of cricket. With the Indian Premier League (IPL) bringing a revolution into the game of cricket and igniting the fever of Twenty20 in cricket crazy fans of the country, the same fever has caught the Indian cinema industry as four movie industries have shown interest in participating in a similar cricket tournament on the lines of the IPL.
The curtain raiser of Celebrity Cricket League will be held on March 5 in ACA VDCA cricket stadium in Vishakapatnam. CCL will have four teams each headed by Salman Khan, Venkatesh, Puneet and Surya who would vie for the top spot at the tourney which brings together the actors for the first time on such a large scale. Four teams will be united to form a Celebrity Cricket League with teams from Bollywood- Mumbai Heroes, Tollywood- Telugu Tigers, Kollywood- Tamil Superstars and Sandalwood- Bangalore Stars. The Tollywood celebrity cricket team will be captained by Victory Venkatesh.
Manchu Vishnu, who was interested in investing in the IPL Deccan Chargers Hyderabad will now invest in the Telugu Tigers. Mumbai Heroes will be captained by Salman Khan, Tamil Superstars will be led by Surya Sivakumar and Bangalore Stars led by Puneet Rajkumar. Tollywood actresses Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Tapasee Pannu will be brand ambassadors for the Telugu Tigers.
