Movie ticket prices likely to go up Hyderabad: Movie ticket prices are likely to cost more. If the film producers have their way, the prices are likely to be increased from the existing Rs 50 to Rs 70 in independent theatres. The state government is learnt to be inclined towards the proposal made by the film producers but is mulling over putting a rider to protect the interests of small producers.
At a meeting chaired by information and public relations, cinematography minister DK Aruna here yesterdy, several stakeholders from the Telugu film industry including producers and directors have put forward their concerns over the proposal made by a group of producers recently.
It might be recalled that some producers wanted the government to increase the price of movie tickets for the initial weeks after the release of big-budget films as the film production costs are going up.
