IT raids on Nagarjuna, Ravi Teja, Anushka Hyderabad, March 23 (INN): Income Tax officials on Wednesday conducted raids on the residences of Telugu Film actors Akkineni Nagarjuna, Ravi Teja and Anushka following the reports that they failed to submit advance taxes properly and after noticing some discrepancies in the statements of their bank accounts.
According to reports, the IT sleuths conducted raids on Akkineni Nagarjuna residence, Annnapurna Studios and Venkat Akkineni. The IT officials also conducted raids on the residence of film producer Shiva Prasad Reddy who produces films under the banner of Kamakshi Films. It is learnt that some key documents have been seized from his house. It is reliably learnt that the IT officials seized important documents from the three popular film personalities during the raids.
Nearly 15 teams from IT department conducted the raids which began early in the morning and were continuing at the time of filing this report. IT department sources revealed that the raids were simultaneously conducted in Hyderabad, Chennai and Bangalore as the department has information that the actors have properties in these cities.
According to reports, these actors had recently purchased a plot of land jointly near Visakhapatnam. This deal has shown up in their bank accounts and had brought the fact that the IT Department may not have been given the tax share due to it. However, the officials have been maintaining did not disclose seized documents and properties during the raids.
