Rajamouli father complains against DCP Hyderabad: Tollywood script writer V Vijayendra Prasad on Tuesday filed a petition at the State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) alleging that he was manhandled by DCP, CCS J Satyanarayana based on a false complaint lodged by producer Chengala Venkat Rao.
In his petition to SHRC, Vijayendra Prasad alleged that Rao lodged a false complaint of cheating against him at the central crime station and that he was made to sign on cheques worth Rs 60 lakh in the presence of the CCS officers. Prasad has further stated that a team of officers from the central crime station beat him up on April 16 and hurled abuses at him.
The dispute between the producer and the script writer dates back to 2004. In his petition, Prasad, who is the father of Raja Mouli (director of Magadheera) stated that he had entered into an agreement with producer Rao for a film titled `Narasimhudu' in 2004, wherein he would have done the script of the film for a promised amount of Rs 63 lakh. The film was to be produced by Rao. The film was formally announced at Ramoji Film City and Prasad was given a sum of Rs 22 lakh and he was supposed to get the remaining Rs 41 lakh from Rao subsequently.
However, Prasad alleged that Rao disregarded the agreement terms and produced the film `Narasimhudu' by using another script-writer's plot and the movie got released in 2005. He alleged that Rao even refused to pay Prasad the remaining amount of Rs 41 lakh and even failed to return his script. Taking note of the petition, the acting chairperson on Tuesday called for a detailed report on the issue from the Hyderabad police commissioner by June 21.
