Gabbar Singh turns hero! Hyderabad: Who is the most famous villain in Indian film industry? The choices could be limited, but the obvious answer should be Gabbar Singh, Sholay's legendary villain, played by Amjad Khan. But at least in tollywood, actor Pawan Kalyan is all set to change the legacy by making Gabbar a hero in his latest flick Gabbar Singh. Pawan will play the lead role as a cop in the flick. There is another reason to watch out for the film: it's a remake of Dabangg, one of the biggest ever blockbusters in Bollywood.
In Tamil too, Dabangg is being remade. While Salman Khan played Chulbul Pandey in Hindi, Pawan's character is named as Gabbar. Pawan is known for remaking Hindi hits to suit his style, starting with Tammudu, where he replayed Aamir Khan's role in Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar. Needless to addd, the movie was a runaway hit. Since then, he has remade Tamil flicks for Khushi and recently he did Teen Maar in his own style (remake of Love Aajkal). Given the racy script, it will be a bumper treat for his fans as the character is a tailor-made for Pawan.
