Highlights of Filmfare Awards Hyderabad: Vikram, who won the best actor award for Tamil for the film Ravanan says the award is a more than enough compensation for losing the leading lady in the film. 'I lost the lady in the film, but I get this beautiful lady for all the trouble. It was a difficult and challenging film to make,' Vikram said.
He said he considers Dhanush, Nagchaitanya and Puneeth as the best among the new generation actors. But the actor did not have to complain during the 58th Idea Filmfare Awards 2010 (South).
Leading ladies from the southern industries including Tamanna, Hansika Motwani, Rachana Mourya and a few others were drooling over the charming actor. Along with Rana Daggubati, director Puri Jagannath and other friends Vikram partied into the early hours of Sunday.
FOR A LIFETIME
Chiranjeevi was given the lifetime achievement award by Rekha. 'This is a token for what I have done so far in films. I will consider it my first award,' Chiranjeevi said at the functon held on Saturday night in the Hyderabad International Convention Centre. He called his wife Rekha on stage. 'Why are you avoiding. This is the time to come,' he called her before telling actress Rekha, 'She has never been on stage before. This is the first time. I am between two Rekhas now and my Rekha (fate) will be good I guess,' he said.
At this point his fans started shouting, 'We want 150.' Chiranjeevi said that even Amitabh Bachchan wanted him to do his 150th Telugu film. When Rekha said 'kisses to all youngsters,' Chiranjeevi showed his cheek.
'You are like a kid to me. I will,' Rekha said. Chiranjeevi then asked Rekha to give 'my Rekha' some tips on how to maintain glamour.
Other highlights of the function included three winners from Kannada dedicating it to late superstar Vishnuvardhan. SP Balasubramanyam, Harikrishna and Kaviraj all of whom won the award for Aptharakshaka dedicated it to Vishnu.
Ratnavelu, who won the best cinematographer award for Tamil film Enthiran said that the makers of the Men In Black films were keen on watching Robot and it has made him proud. Rana Daggubati who won the best debutant award in Telugu said, 'Now people will know that I am not just a chilli powder maker but also an actor.'
Jayasudha who also won the lifetime achievement award said, 'The Almighty has given me many bad days and good. This is the best day of my life. Hope the best days continue.' Mammotty who won the best actor award for Malayalam said he should thank the audience who have 'tolerated my torture all these years.'
