Seductive Sadaa makes a come back
Chennai: After nearly a four-year hiatus since Unnale Unnale, actor Sadaa will be seen again in P Vasu's Puli Vesham that is tentatively slated to release in August. 'I already missed two opportunities to work with P Vasu and didn't want to lose it again,' says Sadaa, clearing the air about her long-absence.
Apparently, the Jayam heroine was offered a role in Rajini-starrer Chandramukhi, which she couldn't take because of her commitments for Anniyan. 'Again, I was asked to be part of Aptharakshaka. But owing to some confusion and misunderstanding created by the producers, I lost that opportunity as well.' So when P Vasu called her to join in Puli Vesham, Sadaa agreed immediately. 'I've got a brilliant character to play in the movie,' she adds.
Her role seems to have a direct link to the mysterious story line of the film. The actress, who was in the city until December 2010 to shoot the last schedule of Puli Vesham, says she doesn't let the performance of a film affect her.
However, the other reason that kept Sadaa away from south was her foray into Hindi films. 'I had signed two Hindi films after Unnale Unnale ' Love Khichdi and Click ' and I was under a contract not to sign any films down south,' she explains. But the movies didn't give her a great opening in Bollywood, though. 'I don't call them wrong choices, because you can never predict whether a movie will do well or not,' she says. 'I know that some people think that I'm consciously avoiding Tamil films, which is not the case.'
Sadaa has a Hindi film in hand now, which she says she is fortunate to be associated with. 'This particular film will go on floors from September and the plot is female centric. The debutant director is also producing the film,' she says. 'It will talk about an industry which has never ever been portrayed in films before.'
Sadaa, who is very meticulous about her choices when it comes to films, says she would like to work in projects, which has either a well-known director or a good banner and production house. She is currently working in a Kannada film opposite Upendra, directed by P Vasu, and a Telugu film opposite Sivaji. 'I don't have any Tamil projects in hand as of now,' she admits.
The actreess has gone for a complete makeover, with curly hair and fabulous toned body. 'I used to straighten my hair earlier and had also lost weight considerably. But now I am back in my original weight ' 52 kilos,' she adds. But guess what has made her happy? 'The positive response from audiences and fans when I have come back.'
