'He Lives' - A dance tribute to MJ in Hyd
Hyderabad, August 30: Rams Step Up, a Hyderabad based Dance Studio that presents workshops in Hip- Hop, Salsa, Contemporary, Bollywood, Free style all through the year organized on Monday 'Hi Lives', a dance performance as a tribute to the deceased King of Pop Michael Jackson who would have turned 53 years on 29th August.
The performance was held at Prasad's I-Max. Farhan Shahed, city's beatbox artist kicked off tribute with his beatboxing talent. He produced varieties of vocal sounds. With his astonishing vocal percussion skills involving the art of producing drum beats, rhythm, and musical sounds using his mouth, lips, tongue, and voice, he mesmerized the audience.
Be it Kick Drums, Reverse Kick Drums, Snare Drums, Inward Snare Drums, Hi-Hats and Cymbals, Rolls, Scratching, Bass Sounds, Farhan was at his best. Michael Jackson was known to record himself beatboxing, so is my beatboxing performance to pay him rich tributes, said Farhan, who has hundreds of performances to his credit.
This was followed by a dance performance lead by city's well known dance trainer and Director of Rams Step Up Dance Studio K. Rammurthy. 150 dancers between 5 to 35 years age group joined him in the performance.
K. Rammurthy is the most sought after dance master and trainer in the city. Among thousands whom he trained are some of the well known film stars. For Rammurthy, dance is a life and life is dance.
Sporting white T-Shirts with Michael Jackson image on the front side of the T-Shirt and the theme 'He Lives'. Youth whistling frequently and shouting, they all danced a number composed by mixing five best songs of Michael Jackson.
Youth in India are craze about MJ dances. MJ has millions of fan following in India and Hyderabad. Unfortunately, many of his birthdays went unnoticed in the past. This year wanted to pay him rich tribute by such a dance number many youth should remember him forever. And we wanted dedicate this performance to thousands of his fans in the city, said K. Rammurthy speaking immediately after the performance.
This performance was finished so fast in about ten minutes, that the crowd had to yell 'once again', 'once again'. I am very happy to have been the part of this tribute, said Jyotsna. Echoed her feeling was Ramya. I am a die hard fan of MJ. So I am here said, Phalgun. MJs dance is eternal and will remain with us ever, said Priyanka.
With the success of the event and repeated requests of the participants, we wanted to make it an annual event, informed Rammurthy. We would also like to have a similar performance on the next 'World Dance Day', Rammurthy said.
