Producer beaten black and blue
Hyderabad: A film producer was beaten black and blue allegedly by his friends at the car park area of Hotel Taj Krishna in Banjara Hills in the early hours of Thursday.
According to the Banjara Hills police, the producer Yelamanchi Ravichand had attended the birthday party of his friend Teja at Taj Krishna where half a dozen more from the film industry were also present.
All of them boozed till late at night and set to leave at around 1 am. However, when they reached the car park area, one of Ravichand's friends identified as Pradeep, who works as publicity manager for films, had assaulted Ravichand with the help of two others. The trio allegedly gave him a sound thrashing with fists and legs before leaving him unconscious.
The parking lot attendants spotted Ravichand and informed the police. He was taken to Apollo Hospital where he regained his senses in the afternoon and lodged a complaint with the Banjara Hills police.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Ravichand and Pradeep had differences in connection with financial matters of the former's next venture. The duo had a heated argument over drinks at the birthday party when Pradeep lost his cool and assaulted Ravichand at the car park area. Police registered a case of attempt for murder and launched a manhunt to nab Pradeep and his accomplices.
