Raviteja's Nippu film shooting disrupted
Hyderabad: Protagonists of a separate Telangana on Tuesday disrupted the shooting of a Telugu film starring Raviteja in a private factory at Saddupally village in Hayathnagar police station limits.
A fight sequence with the hero and others was planned in the cardboard factory for the film Nippu directed by Gunasekhar of Okkadu fame. On coming to know that a film shooting was on at the factory, over 60 Telangana supporters and students reached the location and demanded the crew stop shooting.
They asked Raviteja to raise 'Jai Telangana' slogans. Taken aback by the sudden development, he came out of the makeup van and raised slogans in support of a separate State, much to the joy of the agitators.
Even after the slogan-shouting, protestors did not allow the shooting to go on and wanted the unit to wind it up in view of the ongoing general strike, 'Sakala Janula Samme'. The unit stopped the shooting abruptly and left the place.
The Hayathnagar police later informed that the filmmakers had failed to take police permission for the shoot. No cases were however, registered.
