Namrata - Happy to be a homemaker
Hyderabad: 'Let's sit here', says Namrata Shirodkar, former Miss India, actress and wife of Tollywood Prince Mahesh Babu has no qualms in setting down on a plastic chair for an impromptu interview.
Down to earth and with no starry airs, she looks comfortable in her simple jeans and Tee shirt at the relaunch of a clothing brand in Hyderabad.
How you like to be a Teluginti 'kodalu'?
Although my mother tongue is Marathi, I am fluent in Telugu. I have learned the language in the last five years. I can speak Marathi as well as Telugu. It is important that I blend into my husband's family and hence I picked it up wholeheartedly.
Any plans of making a comeback?
I know that my contemporaries like Karishma Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit are re-entering to silver screen, but I do not have any plans to comeback. I am happy in my current life, playing the relaxed homemaker. I have to take care of two kids.
I have a son who is five year old and my husband is not less than a child. I am very busy with these two kids. If I get an offer to act in a film with a brilliant script, I may consider it.
Difference between Tollywood and Bollywood?
The only difference I find is the language. Regarding my preference for cities, well I love Mumbai as its my hometown and I was brought up there. I love Hyderabad because it is my home now.
About Mahesh not giving any hits in the last three years:
He has done only one film in three years. Khaleja which released in 2010. Although I am confident over Mahesh's next movie Dookudu I prefer talking about it after the release.
