Dookudu fever grips movie buffs Hyderabad: Irrespective of the indefinite protests called for by the Telangana activists, the Mahesh Babu admirers and public at large in the city, seem to be smitten with the actor's upcoming film Dookudu. It became evident when all the tickets at Prasads multiplex were sold out within half-hour on day-one of advance bookings.
The film has been given U/A certificate by the Censor Board and is gearing up for a magnificent release on September 23. The advance bookings for this Srinu Vaitla production commenced at 10 am on Wednesday in all the 69 theatres in Hyderabad and the 54 theatres in Uttarandhra.
Further, the flick is being screened at a record number of theatres (79) in the US, stated to be the highest in the history of Telugu cinema. As regards Tamil Nadu, it will be released in 17 screens in Chennai and suburbs. Sources close to the producers say about 2,500 tickets are sold out as part of advance booking on the first day.
Meanwhile, one of the writers of Dookudu, Kona Venkat stated that the film is a blend of heart-touching sentiment and rib-tickling comedy. It's no way in comparison with Mahesh's Pokiri. 'If the poster or the promos of Dookudu give any wrong impression, please ignore. It is Sreenu Vaitla's film; totally his style of humor,' he quoted. As regards ravishing beauty Samantha, Venkat attributed the good looks to Roopa Vaitla, wife of film-maker Srinu Vaitla.
