DD Saptagiri channel with new look Hyderabad, Oct 5 (INN): Saptagiri, Doordarshan Kendra, Hyderabad, will have a new look from Thursday with an improvised logo, new tagline and a blend of graphics showcasing the dynamics and characteristics of a vibrant channel.
State Governor Mr ESL Narasimham and the Lady Governor will unveil new logo on the Vijayadasami day, station director Shailaja Suman told INN here on Wednesday.
The logo involves good graphics and the new tagline is 'Kamaneeyam, Ramaneeyam', depicting the richness in audio and visual forms, she said.
Saptagiri has loaded the day with a long list of cultural events to mark the new innings on the auspicious day ranging from dance ballets to singing competitions besides the usual programmes and the Brahmotsavalu beamed live from Tirupati.
Saptagiri, which won the best Doordarshan Kendra award, has introduced a variety of programmes in its folio and has been attracting good attention. While other channels have been steady with their style of packaging news variety and game shows, some space has been taken over by Saptagiri of late.
Programmes like Pragati Padham are catching up the attention of people who are unable to stand the high decibel discussions of various channels and the reach of Doordarshan is undisputable.
The sluggish and laid back attitude is being shed slowly by the Kendra and this qualitative change is visible and channel surfers are able to have a glimpse of the quality be it Saptagiri or the national channel or its satellite channels.
When Shammi Kapoor died, it was national Doordarshan Kendra that hogged the limelight and Saptagiri scored over all channels when it televised Bhanumathi's interview from its archives on the occasion of her birthday. Other channels had to be content with some film clippings but the live interview kept old timers glued to Saptagiri.
