Sivaji demands ban on Great Andhra.com
HYDERABAD: Tollywood actor Shivaji lodged a complaint on Friday with the Central Crime Station against the chief executive officer and owner of the online news portal www.greatandhra.com, A Venkat Reddy for allegedly publishing false information against him and his fellow actors.
Speaking to reporters, Sivaji said an article on his health prompted him to file the complaint. 'Venkat Reddy, in his website wrote I had been admitted to ICU because my health condition was in danger. Reading the article, some of my well-wishers called me to inquire about my health. Even my mother got frightened,' Shivaji said.
Shivaji approached the CCS with printouts of the gossip articles posted on the portal.
'In my complaint, I demanded ban on the website, cancelling its licence and also take stringent punishment against Venkat Reddy,' he said. 'It is not greatandhra but Bootuandhra because of all the abusing and wrong information being written in the website,' the actor said.
'Venkat Reddy is ruining careers of several new heroines and other actors of the Telugu industry by his articles,' he said angrily. He further added that Venkat Reddy is writing not only on Telugu film personalities but also on politicians like Congress MP Madhu Yashki.
'The gossips were so intense that it can almost shatter lives. He is torturing actors and actress by writing ugly write-ups,' he alleged. Venkat Reddy is an US-returned NRI from Guntur. Currently he lives in Bangalore and runs the website from there.
Venkat Reddy was arrested and sent for 14 day judicial custody a couple of days back by CCS sleuths for writing objectionable content against Madhu Yashki. Presently Venkat Reddy was lodged at Chanchalguda jail.
