Navdeep booked for drunken brawl
Hyderabad: Film actor Navdeep Pallapollu is in the news once again for the wrong reasons. He allegedly thrashed an engineering student in an inebriated condition at Madhapur early Sunday.
According to police, Navdeep and his girlfriend went to the Excess Club and Lounge at the Novotel Hotel along with a friend Jayavardhan late on Saturday night.
A group of engineering students, identified as Pradeep, Naveen, Prakash and Dhanunjay, also went to Excess following a birthday party at the Banjara Hills.
Madhapur incharge inspector Lakshmikanth Reddy said one of the students allegedly misbehaved with Navdeep's girlfriend at the club when the actor and Jayavardhan were not around.
'Sometime later, the students left the place. Around 1.30 a.m, when Navdeep and his friends were driving home, his girlfriend spotted the students at the Honda showroom at Madhapur. Navdeep reportedly beat up one of the students, Reddy said.
Navdeep and the student lodged complaints against each other. Police registered cases against Navdeep under Section 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint) and 506 (criminal intimidation).
