7th Sense all set to create a new sensation Hyderabad: Diwali is all set to blast its bombs on movie buffs. No doubt, this Diwali will be a treat for movie buffs! One can usher the festivity with much awaited movies of two bigwigs! SRK's RA One and Suriya's Seventh Sense are slated to release on October 26.
While RA.One, with its 200 crore budget and the presence of King Khan is tagged as the most anticipated movie from Bollywood for this Diwali, South moviedom replies to the challenge with its Rs 84 crore 7th Sense made by director A R Murugadoss starring actor Suriya. The duo are known for their previous film Ghajini, which is a landmark in Tamil movie history.
Ghajini was the film which effectively brought actor Suriya to the forefront of the crowded galaxy of superstars in Tamil movie industry. With an innovative storyline, loosely based on Christopher Nolan's Memento and through a masterful performance by actor Suriya suffering from short term memory loss, Ghajini had even managed to overtake ace director Shankar and actor Chiyan Vikram's Aparichitudu in box office collections.
After having remade the film in Bollywood with Aamir Khan, A R Murugadoss returns to Tamil and has rejoined forces with Suriya for this movie. Suriya plays a dual role in the film that of a 5th century Buddhist monk and a 21st century handicapped circus performer.
Sixth sense is reportedly the sense that is said to predict the future. 'The seventh sense is certainly beyond the sixth sense, whereas Seventh sense is about what would happen if there was to be a seventh sense,' says B Subramanyam of Lakshmi Ganapathi films, the production house which bought Telugu rights of the film.
The storyline of the film deals with the myth that the Chinese martial art of Kung-fu had actually originated in India. The Buddhist monk 'Bodhidharma', played by Suriya, migrates from southern India to China and the martial arts he teaches there evolves into the modern day Kung-fu.
The plot is also a nod to the theory that although the origins have been completely lost in the shadows of time, the human DNA has still got locked in it all the secret information regarding every step that man has made through the centuries'
Suriya has done all the stunts in the film without using a body double and his performances are being compared with the master stunt performer Bruce Lee himself.
Of course he will display his six packs acquired for the movie and has also handled a bit of circus acts by himself. The actor underwent a special training session from a trainer in Rajkamal Circus for the movie. Harris Jayaraj has composed the music of the movie which has already been nicknamed a sensation even before its release.
