Sai Ramya wins Paadutaa Teeyaga finals Hyderabad: Vizag girl, Sai Ramya bagged the first prize in the finals of the Paadutaa Teeyaga in the final episode and finished ahead of three other contestants to win the coveted award concluded at the Visakhapatnam Port Trust auditorium.
In the final episode, beamed by ETV last night, the cute girl secured 88 per cent by conductor and judge SP Balasubrahmanyam. A cash prize of Rs 3 lakh and a citation was given away at a simple function after the completion amidst thunderous applause from the Vizag audience.
Her ranking was the average of two episodes to which director Dasari Narayana Rao was chief guest. Sai Ramya scaled the peak with the classical song 'Meerajalagalada' from Sri Krishna Tulabharam, a song which has been popular even before the advent of film industry and she scored well on the rendering part as her sweet voice held the notations to perfection.
Not far behind was the city girl Damini, who opted for Tyagaraja kriti form Chakrapani film sung by Bhanumati. The charming girl was perfect in all the musical notes but finished a shade behind the winner to take the second slot.
The other two contestants, Sarat Chandra from Tada and Nutana from Khammam scored equal marks for the next two spots and were given Rs 50,000 each while the second rank holder Damini bagged Rs 1 lakh.
