Sholay coming in 3 D Hyderabad: NC Sippy's masterpiece Sholay will now be coming in a 3 D format. The film which enthralled over three generations of audience with its fast paced action scenes laced with humour, music and gripping screenplay iced with sterling performances by Amjad Khan, Sanjeev Kumar, Amithabh Bachchan, Dharmendra and Hema Malini, will have a new look and is coming again to give a new imagery.
The project will be executed by Maya Digital Studios. The unit is will be converting the magnum opus into 3D format. Frank Foster, who is leading this effort, says that it is an extremely challenging task.
'The movie was shot about 35 years ago and the original film is not digital. Moreover, the film's length is over three hours and each frame needs to be converted with a lot of patience and care'. The movie will be released in a 3D format next year.
