Panjaa touted to be a gangster classic Hyderabad: Pawan Kalyan's look in Panjaa has spawned a new bearded look across the state. Sporting beard suddenly looked chic. Producer Nagesh Muntha says, 'Panjaa isn't your regular four-song-three-fight-one-item number fare.
In most movies the characters are sheltered into narrative like passenger strapped to the car seat belt. With predetermined ups and downs the audiences go for a ride, but in Panjaa the characters are well etched out into the narrative.
While Ali, Brahmanandam, Jhansi along with Pawan Kalyan drums up comedy, the drama and action is synced well into the story. There are no forced attempts, the blocks fit together very well and at every turn the story is revealing.
The director kept a safe distance from unwanted buildups, over-the-top dialogues and exaggerated heroism for this film.
Director Vishnu Vardhan, has gone a notch up in styling the film and also Pawan Kalyan's looks. His testimony is emphasized by teaming up with the best technicians in the industry.
P.S. Vinod, who has done some great work with ad films is the cinematographer and Akkineni Sreekar Prasad, National award winning editor is the editor for this movie.
Nagesh also adds 'The action sequence of the film were not something laid out in advance - this had something to do with the contemporary aesthetics of the film, be it be the the hand to hand combat or the high octane gun fight sequences.
I think the audiences are done to death with Sumo's tossing in the air action sequences.'
The audio release of the film took place on saturday amidst much fan-fare. Yuvan Shankar Raja's music for Panjaa blends in styles and melody.
Music for this film is what the listeners want and this is sure to vault the songs to top of the charts. With 6 songs in the catalogue, Yuvan has belted out 3 melody numbers, 1 club song , 1folk song and 1 hip hop number.
On a parting note Nagesh says be it Sarah-Jane Dias, Jackie Shroff , Atul Kulkarni, Tanikella Bharani or the amalgam of finest artists, Panjaa is going to be a stylish and definitive Pawan Kalyan film.
It will be remembered as a Gangster Classic for a long time to come and will set the benchmarks for its technical brilliance.
