Varun Sandesh film titled Chammak Challo
Hyderabad: In good olden days Telugu words in Bollywood films were a great success. Remember Ramayya Vastavaya, O Batkamma, Mere hone wale bachon ki Amma' and the like.
With changing times opening lines of hit songs became picture titles. Tollywood has many like Nuvvu Vastanante Ne Vaddannana, Aha na pellanta, Chupulu kalasina Subhavela, Vivaha Bhojanam to name a few.
Some of the Bollywood songs are now gaining popularity and the recent Shah Rukh Khan's Ra.One has delivered one hit in the form of Chammak Challo which is an extravaganza in setting and choreography involving SRK and Kareena Kapoor.
Whatever Chammak Challo means in Telugu, it must have sounded music or success to director Neelakanta and he named his forthcoming venture with Varun Sandesh after the hit song.
Lifting a word, phrase, characterization or track from other languages has come to acceptance in Tollywood, but Neelakanta who is in the genre of good directors who has given meaningful films is now going for a commercial venture and it all started with Chammak Challo.
We should wait to watch the Chammak that unfolds in his film.
